Stray Dogs And Cats In Istanbul, Turkey 12th Jun 2013, by Second Chance
I have spent a few days touring around in Istanbul, Turkey. I am most impressed by the freedom given to the dogs and cats to roam around in this big city. I have taken pictures of them in the popular tourist spots, open parks, shops, eateries and even religious places. I see many Turks play with the cats in the parks, those in the eateries will feed them, some of the residential area will see bowls of kibble in front of their houses for the strays to eat. The Turks are really animal ...

Letters From Dot Dot's New Mummy 29th May 2013, by Second Chance
Dot DotFirst letter Hi Second Chance, Dot Dot had his 1st vet visit today and the vet declared him healthy as ever. However, I still insist on full blood test to further confirm that he is healthy. According to the vet and the medical card that I have received, Dot Dot is more than a year old. He is most probably 2-3 years old based on the record and the built up of tartar at this teeth. Due to this, he would need scaling to improve his bad breath. Hence, I would need to take him yet...

Poor Goldie Abandoned And Then Adopted 4th May 2013, by Second Chance
Glodie was found tied outside the Old Klang road wet market, without any shelter over him. Luckily for him, one of our volunteers saw him and took him back to the shelter. He is estimated to be 5 or 6 y/o or more, there were maggots found on his right leg and many wounds at many parts of his underside body. Goldie is probably traumatised at the sight of other dogs at our crowded shelter, or missing his owner badly, or maybe both. A sad and depressed dogStill lookin...

- story by Catherine Moore "Watch out! You nearly broad sided that car!" My father yelled at me. "Can't you do anything right?" .Those words hurt worse than blows. Elton was found to have been tied up to a big cage in front of our shelter one morning. He is about 6 years old and seemed to be gentle and friendly. He must have been tied up there for a few hours, I untied his chain so he could walk around. But he ran out straight towards the direction of the main road, it was obvious he was finding his way home. Worried he might be knocked down by the many cars on the main road, I chased aft...
