A Bird Story

Yesterday, a friend called me with an S.O.S. Â His friend had just rescued a bird (didn’t say which type) off the street and was looking for a vet to treat it. Unfortunately, the vets he went to could not treat the bird (this is true because most vets do not have the proper medication for treating birds). So this friend asked for advice. His friend also wanted to get an adopter for the bird, so I presume the bird can’t be the ordinary sparrow, mynah or crow.

Updates On The Baby Alligator (Nandhini’s)

Nandh ini has been updating me on the progress of this case.
Today, she checked with the Wildlife Department and apparently, the Deputy confirmed that his people have left for the restaurant now.
Nandhini will call back in the afternoon for updates. Hopefully, the Wildlife officers will rescue the poor alligator and release it back to its natural habitat in the wild.

Injured Puppy

Last week a Ms Lee called us quite late at night saying that a group of teenagers had run over a puppy. We could hear the heart wrenching wails of the puppy through the phone and we asked her to immediately rush it to our panel vet in Klang. Luckily the vet took our call and agreed to open his clinic to tend to the puppy. One of the puppy's hind paws was crushed with serious external injuries. It's about time our famous boy had some sponsors of his own. Shiver was found at the side of a road at the brink of death. He had horrific skin infections, malnutrition & pneumonia. We did not think Shiver would survive. After several months of intensive care & treatment Shiver's condition gradually improved. THE LOVELY LUNA... This dear little girl was rescued from "Dog Island" during the Bangkok Floods. She has limited sight, but is a sweet dog & loves people. She's currently living in our Old Age Dog Run, as with her sight problems we feel she'd be more comfortable with the slower, elderly residents. So far she's doing fine & really loves it when people come & visit her.

MAE MA - SHE'S AS CUTE AS A BUTTON!...
This sweet girl is approx 4 years old & has been at the shelter since 2009. Mae Ma is a very social dog & adores everyone.. She loves it when volunteers come to visit as she is always desperate for cuddles. She also becomes very excited if you take her walkies!.
