Finally…he’s Called “Darwin”, A Story From July 2006

In July 2006, long before I started AnimalCare, I helped some rescuers in the Puchong dogpound rescue where we took out about 40 dogs due for mass euthanasia in one afternoon. I enlisted the help of my brother-in-law to use his lorry for the transportation.
These dogs were all sent to the Ti-Ratana Welfare Home and another group of people took over from there.
One of these dogs needed amputation and I raised RM1000 for the procedure and was told the dog was later transported to a no-kill animal ...

Canine Caviar For Needy Rescuers!

And here’s more heartwarming news to share. Dr Lai Chong of Hand N Paws Veterinary Clinic has donated RM1000 worth of Canine Caviar, and since the good doctor is busy helping animals, he has asked me to help distribute the food to needy rescuers. Instead of 4 big bags, we thought 30 small packs would be better as we can distribute the food to more rescuers.

As many reading will know Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT) and Elephant Nature Park (ENP) were recently raided by the Department Of National Parks for supposed illegal keeping of animals.
Both WFFT and ENP feel they have been targeted for speaking out on the recent elephant killings at Kaengkrachan National Park and Kuiburi National Park, and the involvement of officials, politicians and wealthy businessmen.

Happy Tails From SPCA!

"Rafiki (called "Chocolate" at the SPCA) had her unofficial 6th birthday recently - we took her home from the SPCA Selangor Animal Shelter on the 4th February 2007 when she was about one year old.
We have been back in the UK since July 2010 and Rafiki has adapted extremely well to the somewhat cooler climate here. She loves spending time in the garden even when it's around about freezing. She is such a happy and loving dog - we couldn't have chosen a better one!"

Gigia's Story...
Gigia was found at Patong Beach by a restaurant owner. A man was apparently hitting her with a piece of wood & threatening to kill her. Soi Dog rescued Gigia & brought her to the shelter where she is now safe & cared for.

It is now 1.37am. I just spent the last half hour hunting for Indy.
While I was doing my work in Bunny’s Room, Indy had spider-cat-ed up the cat-grille and jumped out of the room. But I knew my husband had shut all the windows so I let Indy be.
Little did I know Indy had gone upstairs and the bedroom windows were open.
He must have escaped through the upstairs roof.

Subsidy For Fitri, Sporo-Cat (Myza Nordin’s)

Fitri, is a rescued cat of Myza’s and was found to be suffering from sporotrichosis. Since Myza has applied to three funds for subsidy, our subsidy is 20% (the total would be 60% from three funds). This is our second subsidy of RM150 for Fitri.
