“Because a lot of animal NGOs and industry players are in the forefront, we want to get them involved in our consultation sessions and get their input for a meeting ground that we can work on,” he said, adding that the consultation session should be completed by the end of next month.

Remember the Maltese that was dumped on SPCA's doorstep in Dec last year? (see http://spcasingapore.wordpress.com/2011/12/24/42/) Well, since then, we've been treating Christmas, as we've dubbed the 3yo boy, for his skin condition and he's finally fit and up for adoption! He still has sensitive skin and will need an owner willing and able to give him the special care that this special little fella needs. We also stabilised the jaw with wires. Cat looks brighter today but still lethargic. At least there is movement. Still not eaten. The bill will breach 1k after stay here. I know your max amount. Its ok. Now we juz need to go to the end of the line. Do not know when cat will be able to eat.

Caty was brought in for surgery this morning.
Updates from Koo moments ago:
Caty survived the surgery but will be kept overnight for observation. She has woken up now. The eye removal went well and she would have to wear the e-collar for 10 days. She was also found to be NOT pregnant but the spaying was problematic and she is now on drips. I hope she will improve by tomorrow.

Indy Is Still A Bit Feverish

I camped with Indy last night, waking up many times to check on him. He slept through the night and seemed reasonably alright.
He only licked a bit of food this morning, so I handfed him and he ended up eating a sizeable amount. It’s Natural Balance wetfood. He didn’t want homecooked today; maybe it’s not as tasty. Let them decide, Dr Susanna always says. They know what they need.

Bay County Wilderness Dog Rescue rescue dogs dumped off in the middle of nowhere....no houses, no bussnesses, no nothing, just dirt and woods. They don't even get a CHANCE to get adopted...unless Bay County Wilderness Dog Rescue find them. They leave food up and down theses roads EVERY night. SHEBA. Very sad to have to advise that little Sheba like Hanako before her has passed away during the night. She ate well last night but was not to be. Why the Hanako hospital is so important as will then be able to totally segregate new arrivals who could be carrying these diseases.

Myet was a Persian cat who was abandoned by her owner last year and dumped at a DBKU cage. She was brought to the shelter and we noticed that she had ear mites and some fur loss. She was subsequently spayed because a man expressed great interest in adopting her. All was fine for a few months until the man and his family moved to an apartment. We recently received an SOS from a kind samaritan in Shah Alam who's been feeding this doggie in her back lane -believed to have been abandoned by previous owner. Little Sheba like Hanako before her who reminds us all so much of Hanako is seriously ill with distemper. She has been moved to John and Gill's house, where Pammi occupies a downstairs room fighting off Parvo virus and little Sheba is in a spare upstairs room. John is not allowed in the room where Pammi is and Gill banned from entering Sheba's as the last thing we need is for either of them to cross contaminate with what are both deadly contagious...
