Storm And Water
4th Jun 2012, by Second Chance

Hi everyone, here is some updates on Storm (previously Johnny) from Elise Wong who has adopted him from Second Chance middle of last year. "There is something cute about him. He hates bathing but likes water very much. He loves running in the rain and whenever I water my plants, he would 'attack' and play with the water. It is so funny to see. Here are some pictures of him playing with the water. Enjoy!!"

4th Jun 2012, by SPCA Sarawak

Allace having the time of his life lazing around everywhere. Looking at how relaxed he is, it's not obvious to anyone that there's an adult dog just a few steps away. He's not bothered by dogs and neither do my dogs bother about him.

Curiosity Almost Kills A Cat
3rd Jun 2012, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal

I was bustling in and out of my morning consultations when I heard my colleague frantically researching the product containing ‘monoammonium phosphate’. She informed me that there will be a cat arriving in the next hour or so that has ingested that product and is now bleeding from its mouth. Please be aware that I will be sharing some very unappetising photographs so you may want to abstain from reading this post if you can’t cope. When the patient arrived, I happened to be free so I immed...

Crackdown On Illegal Dog Fur Trade, And An Alternative To Using Leather
3rd Jun 2012, by AnimalCare

And while in the previous post we talked about how dogs were domesticated and respected for how they helped our ancestors at hunting, and cats were equally respected and even worshiped, and we also said how times have changed… Yes, it certainly has, sadly so. How And Why Dogs And Cats Ended Up Living Amongst Us
3rd Jun 2012, by AnimalCare

For those who are interested in the history of the domestication of animals, take a look at this: http://www.historyworld.net/wrldhis/PlainTe xtHistories.asp?historyid=ab57 Interestingly, dogs were domesticated from wolves about 12,000 years ago and according to this article, it was for “mutual benefit” – to help humans hunt. Cats came at around 3000 BC. But, how and why they came, not surprisingly, remains, as cats still are today, mysterious… Of course we think they ca...

What To Do And What NOT To Do When Reporting On Cases Of Abuse Or Animals In Need Of Assistance
3rd Jun 2012, by SPCA Sarawak

1. Provide TRUE contact details so that we can call and ask for more information if we do not see the animal at the location you described. Do NOT give false details. Your details are kept confidential and only used for US to contact YOU regarding that animal and nothing else. 2. Describe the situation as accurately as possible and do stand by on email, Facebook messaging or phone to provide more details if necessary. Many who claim to love animals just make one post and consider that matter cl...

Bunny, After The RetroMAD1
2nd Jun 2012, by AnimalCare

It’s just been two doses of RetroMAD1, and Bunny seems much, much better today. His fever is gone. He looks much better too. He fought me real hard just now when I gave him his Vetri DMG. Maybe he thinks he doesn’t need it anymore. Now, when Bunny fights, I lose. I definitely lose, because Bunny (the Sumo wrestler) is much stronger than me! He’s got back his strength, and I have scratches everywhere to prove that!    These two photos were taken late last night, after th...
