Talking Point 2016 - Toggle 23rd Dec 2016, by SPCA Singapore
A PET IS A LIFE TIME COMMITMENT
Keeping our pet for life is a commitment we make from the day we decide to bring an animal home. It means a long-term commitment of time, money and energy.
With the buzz of the festive season, one may be tempted to give an animal as a gift. But before you do, stop and think again because not everyone is ready for the responsibility and costs of having a pet.
We were interviewed on last night's Talking Point http://video.toggle.sg/en/series/talking-point-201 6/...

WILL YOU PLEASE SPONSOR A DOG THAT IS TOO SCARED TO BE ADOPTED RIGHT NOW?
When I was just a few months old, one of the Soi Dog volunteers found me abandoned in his garden. I had obviously been dumped there because I was no longer wanted. At the shelter, they named me Doris.
Will you please visit https://www.soidog.org/ to SPONSOR my ongoing care?
Sadly, some unknown traumatic experiences with humans have left me very anxious of people. I am now living in the shy dog run here at the shelter, w...

I AM A 4 YEAR OLD BOY LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME OF MY OWN!
Please email ALL ENQUIRIES and questions to dana@soidog.org
My name is Valter and I was living on the streets of the island of Phuket, Thailand, when the lady who usually fed me brought me to Soi Dog after I stopped eating. The vets said that the diet I had followed on the streets did not suit me and decided to keep me at the shelter.
Although I am grateful to be here, the shelter is not a place that I thrive. I long for a forever h...

Heartthrobs & Hound Dogs
After adopting two rescue dogs, named Blue and Birdie, who changed her life forever, Ricki Beason decided she wanted to give back to the rescue community somehow.

"I wanted other people to experience this kind of love and loyalty that only a rescue dog can provide."
As a way of giving back, Beason decided to take up photography. Being a phys...

The Importance Of Taurine For Cats 22nd Dec 2016, by AnimalCare
I’ve been doing a lot of reading on cat nutrition lately.
Because of Tiger, everyone is on home-cooked food now (we still give them Monge and kibble as a snack). But cooking destroys two-thirds of the taurine in the meat, so this is a concern. I know raw is good, so I’ve started the cats back on Coco & Joe’s Barf again, but not everyone likes it. I haven’t been able to get Pole and Zurik to eat raw food so far. Still working on it… Cleo and Vincent both l...

She-Ra Dustbathing! 22nd Dec 2016, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
DID YOU KNOW CHICKENS LOVE DUSTBATHING?
Watch this video of a rescued hen named She-Ra demonstrating it! For birds like chickens, daily dust-baths are one way they keep parasites away and stay clean. This routine and others, as walking, perching or nesting are all part of chicken's natural behaviour that the intensive farming industry fails to meet most of them.
If you would like to help She-Ra and her friends, you can choose to not only reduce consumption of meat and eggs, but also to go cru...
