This week we said goodbye to our wonderful, long term volunteers Debbie and Lee from Australia. Debbie and Lee have been involved with Soi Dog for many years and have made several trips to Phuket to volunteer at Soi Dog Foundation.

When in Australia, Debbie heads Soi Dog Australia, a supporter group based there, while Lee has the role of Treasurer and supports Debbie in her role of President. Debbie and Lee have been responsible for running many successful fundraisers in Australia as well as organising and manning stalls at pet expos and animal welfare events which also raise much needed funds and spread awareness for the plights of Thailand’s dogs and cats. Debbie and Lee have also been instrumental in building a volunteer group in Australia to help with fundraising and events.

Debbie and Lee were presented with a special certificate when they said goodbye to recognise everything they do to help the dogs and cats of Thailand. Thanks for everything you do for Soi Dog Foundation, Debbie and Lee and it was great to see you here again at the shelter.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for Soi Dog at the shelter in Phuket, please visit http://www.soidog.org/en/volunteer/ for more information.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand. The organisation is dedicated to implementing effective, sustainable solutions that reduce the suffering of dogs and cats in Asia, runs entirely on donations and works efficiently so all donations are used to help animals as effectively as possible.

The foundation is a registered not-for-profit organisation in Thailand, the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, France and Holland. It has a maximum 4-star rating with Charity Navigator, the largest and most-utilised independent non-profit evaluator in the United States, a platinum seal of transparency from Candid, the world’s largest source of non-profit information, a Top Rated award from Greatnonprofits and the Travelers’ Choice award from Tripadvisor.
