Brave Lady Matina Is Slowly Getting Over Her Trauma

Hello, name is Matina, do you remember me? If not, you can read how my story started here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.664210766953995.1073742652.108625789179165&type=3

I am an old girl of approximately 8 years of age and one day, a lovely lady named Khun Ann saw me having a seizure near a shopping centre in the south of Phuket. Having a seizure is a very scary thing, especially if you are all alone like me. Thankfully, Khun Ann contacted Soi Dog and animal rescue officer Khun Nok came and got me.

The vets at Soi Dog had no way of knowing what had caused my seizure or whether I’d had any in the past, but they could tell I had arthritis and blood parasites which were making me very ill. They gave me medicine for the blood parasites and carried out an operation on my leg to help ease the arthritis pain. Then, every day, they had to clean the wound I was left with so that it slowly started to heal.

The vets Dr Sai and Dr Vlad do regular exercise with me so that I can build up the muscle in my leg and help it get stronger. Every day I get a little bit better and hopefully I will soon make a full recovery. I have a very gentle character and I trust the lovely people who are taking care of me.

Who knows what would have happened to me if the Emergency Response Team had not got me out of the scary situation I was in that day? There are many other dogs like me who need you to help them. You can do this by visiting https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html and joining the team.
