Happy Ending For Senior Dog Who Walked 30 Miles Home Only To Be Turned Away

We are sharing here a heartbreaking tale of a Senior Dog (a sweet black Labrador named Ma Kettle) in the U.S., who walked back 30 MILES to the family that gave her up, only to get rejected again!

This dogs first, elderly owner passed away in 2012, and was taken to an animal shelter in Kansas. Then, an adopting family took an interest in her, and took her home. However the dogs joy is short-lived. This is because that family acquired a few puppies and found the dog not favourable to have any longer in the house. They chose to give up the senior dog, in favour of the puppies. The family then drove the senior dog far, far away to a brand new owner.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The dog escaped and WALKED NEARLY 30 MILES BACK to the family that gave her up.

Devastatingly enough, that family rejected her, and put her in a shelter again. Older now, her chances of ever getting adopted again grew slimmer.

Meanwhile, however, her sad story began to spread, across social media. Lo and behold, her eventual forever home came to her at last. Today, a loving family in Florida has adopted her, indeed the due Happy Ending to end all that heartbreak and sorrow.

Senior animals, like Ma Kettle, are often the most disadvantaged when it comes to getting homed again. This relative difficulty in getting the senior animals adopted is a problem many, many shelters are saddled with! We sincerely hope more prospective adopters will give the senior animals a chance, as the latter are just as capable of, IF NOT MORE, giving unconditional love and loyalty as their younger counterparts!

For the love of animals. Pass it on.
