I am an old boy and I have been in so much pain lately. My life as a street dog has finally caught up with me. My name is Ramiro and I am 18 years of age. I have been alone my whole life.

I didn’t know what was causing the pain but everything hurt inside my mouth. I wasn’t able to eat or drink properly and even just trying to move around slowly took all my energy.

A truck stopped beside me one day and a man got out. I didn’t have the strength to run away but I was so scared. I didn’t expect what happened next…

The man stroked my head and spoke softly to me. Something about him made me relax and when he lifted me up and placed me in his truck, I was no longer scared. The man’s name was Khun Jaroon and he is an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog.

Once at the shelter, the vets examined me and said I had serious swelling around my mouth and a severely infected wound on the inside of my mouth. All the tissue around this wound was rotten and this was what was causing all my pain.

I am now getting the treatment I need after years of having nobody to care for me. This will take some getting used to but I am very cooperative with the vets. I am old enough to understand they want to help me.

They tell me about the Soi Dog supporters – the people who have saved me. It is thanks to their donations that Soi Dog was able to pick me up and treat me. Without these supporters, at my age and with nobody else to help, I would not have made it.

There are so many other street dogs and cats that need help. Alone and without an owner to take them to the vet, these animals have only one person to turn to.

YOU.

It takes so little to help so many: just a few dollars a week did it for me and countless others. Please sign up to help suffering street animals like me today. Without you, they simply won’t make it.
