I am a 3 year old girl called Quesa, a stray dog of Phuket, Thailand. Born on the street with no owner to care for me, every day was a fight for survival. There are many of us who live like this.

I was managing to get by until I got sick. Without treatment, things did not look good for me. I became weaker and more emaciated as my appetite vanished. My belly was swollen, yet I was frighteningly skinny. My skin was covered in sores and I could not stop scratching myself.

It was a man called Khun Jaroon who found me one day. He is an Animal Rescue Officer with Soi Dog and he wasted no time in racing me to the shelter and into the arms of Dr. Eugene. He told me I had fluid in my belly, which was causing the swelling, and immediately drained about a litre of it.

He also said I was severely anaemic and had something called demodectic mange. I don’t know what any of it means but Dr. Eugene has now put me on special food and medication and promised to make me better.

All of this love and medical treatment I am getting is thanks to a very special group of people. They are the Soi Dog supporters whose monthly donations are funding my care. Without them, I would have had no future to speak of.

Sadly, I am just one of many. As you read this, other stray dogs and cats continue to suffer. They are sick or injured; they have been abused or abandoned. These animals have just one hope and without that, they won’t make it.

That hope is YOU.

Just a few dollars a week would mean many more could be picked up and treated, just as I was. Please commit to helping them today; without you, they have nobody.
