Dear Friends of SPCA,

I realise that our earlier posting involving the case of the dismembered cat at Marine Crescent may have been premature and has caused much anxiety, confusion and unnecessary alarm amongst our animal-loving supporters. In no way did I intend for this to happen, and I unreservedly and sincerely apologise.

I am also very upset at the death of the cat and, under the circumstances, wished to share the preliminary findings as they were presented to us. But the previous posting, that our vet could not rule out the possibility that a dog (or dogs) was/were responsible, was in fact only a preliminary opinion and in no way conclusive.

I would like to assure you that we are still investigating the case, and interviewing all parties concerned. We also await the AVAs assessment / post-mortem result. I thank you for your feedback. I will share further information with you in due time.

Sincerely,

Corinne Fong
