I was just trying to cross the street when the car ploughed into me. I didn�t hear it until it was too late and I had run right in front of it. I am a 2 year old boy called Shimmer, who has grown up on the streets of Phuket, Thailand.

That accident left me in agony. I lay by the side of the road, unable to stand or walk. I was found by one of the local people who feed me every day and he ran to call Soi Dog. Shortly after that, I arrived at the place they call the shelter.

I heard them say they had to do something called an x-ray but they don�t have the machine they need for that so I had to go to a specialist hospital. That�s when I found out I had fractures to both my left front and back legs.

The vets at Soi Dog have promised to make me better and help me walk again. The treatment I am getting could never have happened without some special Soi Dog supporters. These people donate monthly for the emergency care of sick or injured stray dogs that have nobody else to help them.
