SHIELDING THE DOGS FROM BOMBS, BULLETS & LAND MINES IN KIEV

We are thanking our lucky stars that the funds we’ve sent to the Shelter Kiev SOS will hold out for a few more months. Thanks to all of you, the dogs have enough to eat. The greater danger, right now, comes from terrorists.

“The situation in Kiev is becoming more dangerous,” shelter Founder Tamara Tarnawska explains. “Last week, in the city center, during the middle of the day, two well-known journalists were shot.”

“Two days ago, they mined the central TV channel,” she continued. “I live across the street and the police asked all residents to leave the house immediately. I grabbed the dogs and ran outside. My heart sank with fear for the fate of the 15 cats that were left in the apartment.We stayed on the street for about 5 hours until the TV building was cleared without exploding and then we returned home. In such a situation it is very difficult to protect the animals.”

“In our shelter, Petro is still the security guard. But he often says that he fears for his life and lives of animals too.Unfortunately, in Kiev many saboteurs and bandits.”
