SPAY & NEUTER CHALLENGE IS A SMASHING SUCCESS!

Last week, we held a 3-day challenge to raise funds for veterinary care for a large number of dogs who have arrived at the Prnjavor shelter in Bosnia.

The lead rescuer at this shelter is Bojan Veselica, who does everything he can to home, sterilize and supplement food for the dogs (who normally wouldn’t have enough to eat). He not only tries to raise the level of comfort for dogs at this public pound, but he also intercepts dogs about to reach the end of their 30 day period. He works quickly, and with incredible diligence, to find them homes.

Thanks to everyone who donated, and our matching funds, we can now be sure that all the dogs are spayed/neutered and also receive rabies vaccines and flea/tick treatment. With such a large flow of incoming dogs, we’re so relieved that we can help in this way to ready as many dogs as possible for new homes.
