Updates On 25th May 2015

We are greatly pleased to announce that certain areas under the MBPJ will soon be offered the privilege of practising a “Neuter-and-Return to Colony” programme for its street dogs and cats. The state of Selangor has agreed to sponsor some funds to provide free neutering for street animals which will be done by PAWS’s Mobile Clinic. We are in the midst of working out the details, so please be patient and wait for further news.

We would like to thank the state of Selangor, particularly Y.A.B. Tuan Mohamed Azmin Ali, Y.B. Puan Elizabeth Wong, and the ADUN of Seri Kembangan, Y.B. Tuan Ean Yong for their help and support. This is an unprecedented breakthrough for the welfare of street animals in Malaysia and we are deeply grateful for it.

PAWS

PAWS was founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. Through their generosity and imagination, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land owned by Sime Plantations on the Subang Airport Road. This distinct group of sheds and a courtyard still stands today and currently homes around 400 cats and dogs.

The staff that work at PAWS include one veterinary surgeon and a number of full-time personnel. The organisation depends entirely on the generosity of the public through donations or proceeds from charitable events organized and run by volunteers.
