EVER WONDERED WHAT A TORTOISE LOOKS LIKE ON THE INSIDE?

Wonder no more!

Here�s an X-ray image of one of the rescued Indian star tortoises in our care, courtesy of The Pet Doctors Clinic. At ACRES, we regularly order X-rays of the rescued animals to ensure that they are healthy and do not have any hidden health issues. In this case, if you look at the image closely, you will notice a cluster of four eggs. Many of the female tortoises will produce unfertilised eggs from time to time.

The outdoor soil/sand environment at our outdoor Main Sanctuary Area provides the tortoises with a good place to dig and lay these eggs. It�s important that these eggs are laid, or else they could cause complications.
