Rescued, then fostered (before adoption): Batfleck, the glue board kitten

Batfleck (rescued from a glue board in April 2015, as featured in our post here on 29 June 2015), was only a month old when he was finally cleared of the glue stuck to his body. While our vets found him healthy, he was then too young for adoption.

We sought the kind help of one of our foster parents, Ms Chua Su Yin. She opened her home and heart to Batfleck, and gave him a warm and nurturing home environment to ready him for his eventual adoption phase. (And lending that extra hospitality was Su Yins friendly resident Ragdoll (see pic), who helped make Batfleck feel at home.)

He was fostered for close to two months, after which time he was placed for adoption in mid-June 2015. A kind adopter, Mervyn Chan, and his family then decided to make him their forever fur-kid on 23 June 2015 (see our post here on 29 June). Mervyn shared with us that Batfleck has been lapping up all the attention and love given to him, and that Batflecks newly renamed ZORRO!

Our thanks to Su Yins family and to the Chans for making possible this happy ending!

Fostering an animal, as Su Yin and family have done, can be a wonderful bonding experience for you and your family. The rewards are intangible, as you would be actually saving a life and making a difference.

By helping to foster animals until space becomes available in our shelter and the animals become older and better able to cope with kennel life, you are helping us save more lives. Do refer to this page to find out more: http://www.spca.org.sg/helpus_fosterparent.asp

If you’re at least 18 years, and are ready to be a foster parent, come join us on our Foster Care programme! You would be nurturing a life in its most formative years of development.
