MAN FINED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AFTER POISONING DOG

On the 4th July, 2015, a young man was charged and fined for poisoning a dog who he claims was killing his chickens.

This arrest came as a result of a citizen making a report after seeing a post on Facebook and reported it to police. Watch Dog Thailand, Soi Dog�s undercover unit, worked with local police to investigate and this man was charged with animal cruelty without reasonable cause.

This man was brought in front of a court and fined 6000 THB. He was also given a suspended jail sentence.

While this punishment may seem small to some, 6000 THB is a lot of money to many people in Thailand and this result will act as a deterrent to potential offenders.

Before the introduction of Thailand�s new animal welfare laws, this man would have gotten away with this crime. We cannot thank the police enough for pursuing this case and for ensuring this man was punished.
