THE AWRC KITCHEN GETS A FRESH DOSE OF PAINT AND A REVAMP!

The ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre kitchen is where we prepare all of the food for the rescued wild animals in our care. After many years of use, we decided to give it a new lease of life by giving it a new colour! Wildlife Rescue Officer Syabrina , together with dedicated volunteers from Colliers International, stripped down the kitchen, scraped and cleaned the walls, and finally slapped on a new coat of paint. While this was happening, volunteers also helped to set up some new donated stainless steel shelves.

Within a few hours, the kitchen was looking very different! We wanted a lean and efficient workspace, and the new kitchen set up reflects that. We threw away old cabinets, and now everything is made of steel and positioned off the ground, to ease cleaning.

We still have a bit to do and are looking for kind sponsors who can donate/pay for a new set of aluminum doors. Our current doors are falling apart, and only something weatherproof, such as aluminum doors, will be able to withstand the elements for more years to come. Please do let us know if you can help us with this or know people who can help us.

Huge thanks to all the great volunteers who helped with the kitchen revamp!
