WHY THE DOGS OF THAILAND NEED YOUR HELP

My name is Amber. I am about 5 years of age now and have lived a hard life on the streets, like millions of others.

I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter after a terrifying accident when I was hit by a car. I was lying by the side of the road when found, unable to move. The pain in my leg was unbearable.

At the shelter, the vets noticed that while I could stand, I was unable to walk on my left hind leg. When they examined it further, they noticed a grating sensation between the bone and cartilage and suspected a bad fracture.

Sadly, the Soi Dog clinic is too small and under-equipped to deal with injuries like this, which meant I had to go on another journey to a private clinic with an x-ray machine. This is why sick and injured dogs like me desperately need our own hospital.

The x-ray showed that I had totally fractured my leg and it required surgery to fix it. The vets did something called plating and wiring on the leg, in the hope of getting me using it again. Since then, I am slowly recovering.

I am starting to put weight on the leg now and the wound from the surgery is healing well. The vets are using special bandages to fix the alignment of my leg.

It’s not easy here, surrounded by so many sick and injured. Soi Dog is now being asked to treat more dogs than ever before, and the small clinic that has been used since day one can no longer cope.

Soi Dog has a plan to fix this situation and has already started constructing a special dog hospital. However, the funds to complete it and keep it running are still desperately needed. If this hospital becomes a reality, it will have an x-ray machine and everything else necessary to save the lives of thousands of dogs like me every year.

Sadly, it can’t happen without you. Will you please become an Angel for Dogs today and play your part in making the hospital dream come true? So many dogs are in need of this facility. So many of us deserve this facility.

Please make it happen. Click on my picture to become an Angel for Dogs today. Thank you.

The dogs of Thailand urgently need your help. Soi Dog’s vet clinic is far too small for the number of neglected, injured and abused dogs it cares for and dogs are suffering and dying as a result. Please donate about a dollar a day to help them.
