Christianne enjoys doing paintings which show positive steps taken towards a more sustainable world.
“My first encounter with turtle hatchlings was when I visited a beach in Melaka during one of my school holidays back in the 70′s,” she said.
“I’ve visited a couple of hatcheries since then and I am amazed at how dedicated the people are in getting these hatchlings off to a positive start…not to mention the education and dissemination of information plus the empowerment of nearby villagers to do the same.
A deep sense of loving and protecting nature is essential for a more caring society. We all need to be constantly reminded and educated on the importance of a sustainable path.
The painting shows this simple gesture of helping which in itself is the embodiment of consideration and kindness towards another living thing; and Inspired also by a quote by Mother Teresa. “Just do small things with great love.”
We love hearing about passionate people helping wildlife and the environment. While WWF-Malaysia believes that natural incubation is best (where turtles are best left to its natural hatching process, with hatchery as the last resort in ensuring eggs are protected) and hatchlings are safely released into the sea, we are happy to share Christianne’s experience how she combines her love of art and nature towards conservation.
The painting was exhibited recently at Gallery Mona, Tokyo
“Celebrating Life” and it now belongs to a Japanese Couple.
