“I am trying to catch my lost pet bird” is the usual answer we get from most of the poachers.

Here is one. Two individuals have been observed to be setting up traps for oriental magpie robin birds at the car park of Republic Polytechnic. While Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and the Singapore Police Force have attended to this case and taken action, the current Wild Animals and Birds Act (WABA) needs more teeth to regulate possession and sale of traps.
