About The Pet
Molly Sue, formerly known as PF4532, is a sweet, gentle, and intelligent puppy. She only has 3 and a half legs but that doesn't stop her from being active and living a normal life. She was rescued by petfinder members Rebecca and Anne who spent weeks feeding her and trying to gain her trust before they were able to catch her.
Molly Sue's life began on the streets of Cheras. There, she was born to one of Malaysia's many homeless dogs, destined for a life of suffering and constant struggle for survival. We don't know what happened to her leg but people who were familiar with her and her mother said that she used to have all four legs. What awful things occured between her birth and the present remain a mystery. For her rescuers, the sight of that little 3-legged pup seeking shelter under cars was too much to bear and they had to help her.
When Rebecca first brought molly to my house she was a very fearful and sad puppy. She didn't trust any human beings.. i think she loathed us. she wouldn't even look at me. she kept her eyes on the ground and her tail between her legs.. the stump of her little half-leg was scabby from being dragged on rough roads all the time. she wouldn't respond to me at all.. she wouldn't even move. she did however, seem mildly interested in her roommate, 6 week old kitten Conan.
So i took little conan out of his fostering cage and put him next to molly and VOILA!! molly's tail started to wag, a spark came into her eyes and she stood up! she sniffed him and licked him and nuzzled his tiny ears then followed him around the room occasionally butting him with her nose.. since then they have become inseparable. conan has changed molly's life. he brought her out of her shell. molly has improved by leaps and bounds since her friendship with conan began. that little rascal helped boost her confidence.
Molly's rescuers and I hope to find her a permanent home with a loving, responsible family. She can live a normal, healthy, active life. All she needs is the same love and care that every dog deserves with a little extras..
She will need joint and bone maintenance dietary supplements to ensure the strength and health of her 3 remaining legs. Her remaining hind leg needs the help of supporting crepe bandages to prevent joint wear and tear. this is because this leg has to bear the weight that the missing leg is no longer supporting. she will also need regular exercise.
No caging, no tying up, no beating or caning. Training focus on behavior modification through positive reinforcement. Adopters must allow home visits.
Molly's rescuers have vaccinated her and she will be spayed soon.

Update 25/5/09: Molly is cautious though no longer afraid of strangers. She's so sweet now and loves climbing up and down the sofa and running up the stairs. She's paper-trained.
Molly and Conan have been neutered.
