Kent Has Got A Sponsor!

Day 1 at shelter, a depressed Kent

Kent was abandoned at our shelter few days ago, he is a male Dachshunds mix, estimated about 5 -6 years old. On his first day at the shelter, he was very lost and depressed, he must be missing his master and his home. And who was this heartless fella who dumped him?

With about 300 dogs in the shelter, any additional dog will add to the burden (financial as well as physical) to the shelter, therefore we have to ask for sponsorship for Kent in our Facebook.  Luckily a Malay lady by the name of Kin Kamarulzaman responded almost instantaneously that she is willing to pay RM50 for Kent’s monthly upkeep. Million thanks to her!

For Kent, life is good again

There is a lot of space to run and explore.

Here is what Kin wrote in our Facebook.

“Thanks for the update and pictures. I’m glad Kent is settling well into his new life at the shelter. Give him some ‘tough love’ if need be for being a bully. Naughty boy! I’ve always had much passion and love for dogs..i’m grateful that my parents allowed my brother and i the opportinity to share our lives and care for these wonderful creatures since we were little kids despite being malay. I wish i could do more for them and in time i’m sure i will. I am truly grateful for the efforts and care you guys have given to these dogs. I am sure its not an easy task. They definitely deserve a chance to live and lead a happy life. It takes a special kind of people to do what you’re doing. All the best and keep me updated. I’ll come visit soon.”

For those who are uninitiated, we have a sponsorship program for our sheltered dogs. It can be only RM30 pm for their food or RM50 for their food and medical. Second Chance

Second Chance is a group of like-minded animal lovers who met through the Internet when they read of Aunty Kiew's plight.

They do their very best to render help whenever time permits and within their limited capacities. They hope to find good homes for as many homeless animals as possible. Currently, there are 100+ animals rescued and fostered by this group.
