Day 3: Updates On Jackie (Lester Hiew Thiam Hock & Jenny Khong Chin Chins)

About Jackie’s case:http://myanimalcare.org/2013/09/04/medical-subsidy-for-beaten-dog-jackie-lester-hiew-thiam-hock-jenny-khong-chin-chins/

Jackie is a community dog (an abandoned pet along with his siblings and mother) looked after by Lester and his mum, Jenny. A few nights ago, Jackie was beaten up by a neighbour resulting in a broken leg. Jackie’s surgery alone (insertion of pin to repair broken leg) is estimated to cost between RM1800 and RM2000 (excluding the needed hospitalisation for roughly 2 months so that the recovery can be monitored and the leg can heal properly).

We have pledged our maximum medical subsidy of RM500 for this case and some of our readers have contributed the following:

Caramel Puppy: RM700 (already banked in (deposit to clinic))
Martin Lui Seong Yun: RM300
Panda N Gang: RM100
Cindy Lim-Tan: RM596

Total: RM2196

We thank our readers very much for their generous contribution to help Jackie.

Here are today’s updates from Lester:

Subject: Jackie’s Broken Leg: Update #3
To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>

Good evening miss,

Just got back home not long ago. Mum and I visited Jackie and he is doing okay. The vet updated us with the following:
1) The surgery went well and everything is okay.
2) Jackie is also under treatment for his tick fever.
3) Jackie needs a place where the floor is not slippery, a space just nice for him and there is some sort of confinement because if Jackie gets too excited, runs too much, or jumps too much during his recovery period, the metal pin might bend and that is bad.
Attached are pictures of Jackie.
I would like to take this chance to thank everyone who has supported us in many ways. Thank you very much Caramel Puppy, Mr. Martin Lui, Panda N Gang, and Ms. Cindy Lim. Your kind contribution has helped Jackie a lot.
Thank you very much,
Lester Hiew
