Steps Forward In Ending The Dog Meat Trade...

Senior officers of the Royal Thai Police representing all of Thailands provinces attended a meeting late last week at the Royal Thai Police headquarters in Bangkok. The meeting was organized by the Police Deputy Commissioner, Watchdog Thailand and the Soi Dog Foundation.
Other key stakeholders involved in ending the illegal dog meat trade also attended including representatives from the Department of Livestock Development and officers of the Royal Thai Navy (Mekong River Unit)
The purpose of the meeting was to provide nationwide awareness and support among the police regarding the trade and to provide guidance as regards arrest procedures, applicable laws and importantly procedures as regards working with the Department of Livestock Development for proper care of rescued dogs.
Soi Dog Foundation would like to extend thanks to all participating in the meeting and in particular to the Royal Thai Police for their concerted efforts in ending the dog meat trade.
