Meaningful Buka Puasa Evening With Berjaya Hotels And Resorts

Upon entering the room, I could see the children were sitting in neat rows listening to Fimie Dons talk about the different types of turtles found in Malaysia and what we can do to help save them from becoming extinct. Shortly after, we all did the turtle version of the chicken dance. Then, each child displayed his/her unique creativity through colouring in some paper turtles prepared by the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia.

Soon, its time for iftar. We were ushered into a ballroom next door, which had been nicely decorated – there were balloons everywhere! We all loved the balloons and the marvellous buffet spread. There was everything from northern flavours of Malaysia like ketupat palas, budu and mango kerabu to classics like lemang, ketupat with serunding and rendang, to childrens favourite like heart-shaped nuggets and spaghetti bolognese. My friends and I from the Turtle Conservation Society sat at a table with adorable children from the Rumah Kanak-kanak Angels, eating heaps of food, having fun with the balloons, and share some jokes and games. All in all, it had been an enjoyable meaningful evening.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
