Case #2:

This shih tzu has been admitted to Venice Veterinary Clinic since Sunday. He has been diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, commonly known as dry eye syndrome.

He was abandoned at the shelter recently in a very bad condition. Pus were flowing out from his affected eye and he was nothing but a mess. Mdm. Tan had him cleaned up a little bit before he was sent to the vet.

His one eye was found to be filled with maggots and the severity of his condition has caused him to loss his vision. Other than the eye, he is also found to have ingrown nails, resulting him to have badly injured his own paws.

Dr. Vincent has put him on anesthetic today to remove all the maggots from his eye and also to trim his nails.

This shih tzu will need to be boarded at the clinic for at least 3 weeks until the wound of his eye heal completely. We are unable to send him back to the shelter at this moment since the shelter’s environment will not be good for him during his recuperation period.

Today’s treatment will cost approximately RM200 and his boarding is RM40 per day, including food, medications and daily wound cleansing.

Estimation of total medical bill is around RM1040. We sincerely appeal to the Public to help us with the medical cost by donating to our account below:

SPCA Seberang Perai

The SPCA Seberang Perai is a society registered in September 2005. Our primary aim is to reduce the population of stray animals or possibly a zero stray population in a humane manner. With lesser strays or no strays at all, the loving value of animals will be greatly increased and you can be sure that humans will shower more love for their pets and be responsible pet owners. The problem should not only be shouldered by our Society as the public must also understand the urgent need to control the pet population and give their whole-hearted support to all our projects for the undertaking to be successful. Then we will achieve a clean and hygienic environment for the community. As a no killing organization, we are embarking on a two-prong approach towards the problem i.e public education and sterilization of the stray animals.
