Authorities To Step Up Enforcement To Prevent The Release Of Animals Into The Wild

We applaud the authorities’ move to stamp out the release of animals into the wild, and remind all pet owners to practise responsible pet ownership, remembering that a pet is for life.

Under the revised Animals & Birds Act, anyone caught guilty of cruelty to animals, including the wilful abandonment of any animal, can be jailed for up to 18 months, fined up to S$15,000 or both.
