Resident Dogs Of PAWS

A gloomy day today as we bid farewell to our most senior resident dog, Lucky, who passed away earlier this morning at age 14.

Lucky has been with us ever since he was a palm-sized little puppy. Three attempts were made to re-home him after he was ready for adoption, but the adopters returned him to the shelter each time as he wasn’t the friendliest when taken out of our shelter environment.

Despite his behavioural problems, our kennel boys had a soft spot for him as they brought him up since he was a puppy, so they decided to keep him as a resident dog at the shelter. They have given Lucky years of love and care ever since.

Many have told us that Lucky is indeed ‘lucky’ to have had a second, third, maybe even fourth chance at life, but little do they know it’s us who are lucky to have him by our side all these years.

Thank you for everything, Lucky.

PAWS

PAWS was founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. Through their generosity and imagination, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land owned by Sime Plantations on the Subang Airport Road. This distinct group of sheds and a courtyard still stands today and currently homes around 400 cats and dogs.

The staff that work at PAWS include one veterinary surgeon and a number of full-time personnel. The organisation depends entirely on the generosity of the public through donations or proceeds from charitable events organized and run by volunteers.
