FIGHT FOR THE ANIMALS

A mixed bunch of people, we are. Everyone as ACRES didn’t quite grow up to be who we are, helping the animals we work with and for. Just like you, something sparked in us to start something. And eventually, things moved along that now have us all pushing the animal protection movement forward.

This is Stanley Sim’s story.

“I was a full-time sports rehab trainer before I joined ACRES. I’ve always been passionate about training, especially toward my patients with injuries but want to return to sports and exercise. I find great satisfaction in playing a part to improve their quality of life.

Working with animals has always been my dream since I was young. So when I saw that ACRES was looking for a wildlife rescue officer, I applied for it without hesitation. Things in life happen for a reason, and I was glad I got accepted and given the chance to play my part to protect wildlife while I still practice doing what I love.

I was also a muay thai practitioner and did some coaching some time back, and I will be getting back into the ring, participating in competition.

Well, life is a fight in many perspectives, whether is for your own or someone else. Fighting for animals is similar to fighting in the ring, in the sense where you need dedication, commitment and above all, belief. The only difference is of course you don’t get punched in the face whilst saving animals!”

Whether you’re an athlete, NOT an athlete, a snake lover or NOT a snake lover, please join our annual Charity Gala. Because your ticket purchase and/or donation will help fund our work that helps hundreds of animals of all kind, and your presence there will encourage us to know that we’re not in this movement alone: https://www.giving.sg/acres/charitygala2018
