*tl;dr adopt Spider, you’re worth it

Let’s open up a can of worm, or a dog/cat here (figuratively speaking).

Senior pets; as 1 of the many animal welfare NGO whose main function is re-adoption of animals surrendered to us, you’d be surprise how many requests we’ve received everyday (~13 a day if you’r'e wondering), if 3/4 of that are genuine rescue cases, the remaining are pet owners wanting to give up their pet for various reasons. We’ll focus on senior pets here.

Caring of senior pets is not easy, caring for another living being has never been easy otherwise they’d not be calling it an achievement, it’ll be called a “side quest”.

Spider here is one of the cases illustrated above. But he was extremely lucky, he was found wandering on the street half a year ago by a very kind muslim couple, who have not stopped visiting Spider and taking him for a walk even after surrendering him to us. When Spider was found he was in really bad condition (body score of 2/5, not cleaned/groomed in anyway, there’s a growth on his chest, etc). The rescuers fundraised for the dog’s treatment.

Spider has never been better now. But he needs a retirement home, he has walked the lone path of being abandoned long enough, he needs a rest.

A cozy home environment is what Spider deserves, to spend the rest of his life listening to the pitter-patter of rain on the roof, watching the sun casting the first light in the horizon and fade into the dark bringing the stars with it, smelling the wonderful meal you’re preparing in the kitchen (but he can’t have it because you’ve already spent a couple of hundreds buying that kibbles for him), following your shadow swaying to the tune of Frank Sinatra in the living room…

Adopt a senior pet today from any shelter near you. Just do it, you’ll be regard as a hero by the pet you’ve adopted for the rest of their life, because you’re worth it (please don’t sue us Maybe Maybelline).
