This is Makita. She’s about 5 years old. She arrived at our shelter after we received a call about a street dog who had been attacked by another dog and left with serious facial injuries, including a large bite wound near her eye. Will you please go to https://bit.ly/Saving_Makita and donate to help dogs like her?

Like countless others, Makita has lived on the streets her whole life. She has no owner. And the sad reality is that when homeless animals like her become ill or injure themselves, they are all alone in the world. You truly are the only hope they have.

Makita is so lucky she did not lose her eye. By the time she arrived into the care of our vets, the wound on her face was badly infected and she was in unbearable pain. She would have had no hope without people like you. Without your support, there would be nowhere for animals like her to go. And left untreated, the wound around Makita’s eye would have simply got worse, leaving her at very real risk of septicaemia.

Makita’s injury was so severe that she needed to be mildly sedated before the vet could start treating her. She may need surgery in order to repair the wound completely, but for now it is being cleaned and dressed daily and she is under the watchful eye of our vets. This gorgeous girl also had to be treated for a flea infestation – another result of a life of neglect on the streets.

Please go to https://bit.ly/Saving_Makita and pledge what you can to end the suffering of homeless animals. You really do have the power to make a world of difference for dogs and cats that simply have nobody else. Thank you for showing them you care.
