“Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.” – Optimus Prime

Kurina Yonezawa, an Animal advocate and an amazing cook, flew in from Japan to share about effects of factory farming and her connections with chickens to 40 primary school students.

As Kurina shared a touching and sentimental story of her chickens, the students became engrossed that they pulled their chairs closer to her, some whipped out their phones to record.

“Why are you recording?”

“To watch at home and remind myself about factory farms and show my parents that chickens are sentient beings.”

And so, questions were asked, and photos were taken.

Thank you Kurina, for your insights and courage to protect and speak out for the chickens who are often forgotten and overlooked.

Let us continue to be the voice for all animals and remember that every small change we afford, every voice we project, makes a difference for the animals and in nurturing a compassionate and socially responsible society.
