URGENT! DONATE NOW TO SAVE ANIMALS STRANDED BY RECORD FLOODING

Thanks to our incredible supporters, Soi Dog Foundation has gotten the first 11 tonnes of dog and cat food to the desperate animals of Ubon Ratchathani, a Thai province 600 kilometres from the capital, Bangkok. In the past weeks this area has been deluged by monsoon rains, causing the Mun River to overflow its banks. This flood event, unseen in almost 20 years, has displaced close to half a million people.
With our supporters’ help, we are coming to the aid of the pets these families heartbreakingly had to leave behind as they escaped with only their lives and the clothes on their backs. We are also helping the animals already living on the streets there who’ve been displaced. The food we’ve been able to send thanks to our wonderful supporters will feed thousands of animals being held temporarily in temples and shelters until they can be reunited with their owners, or can safely return to the streets.
Soi Dog is also providing and facilitating the distribution of food and shelter to many homeless animals stranded in an open area that’s been completely cut off by flooding, Temporary shelters are being built and will be delivered by boat this weekend to provide protection from both rain and sun, until the floods recede. We will also be sending a medical team to help any sick or wounded animals and to vaccinate and spay and neuter dogs and cats as needed.
Unfortunately, more rain is expected in the next several days, and so the need will be ongoing until this record flooding event finally ends. The traditional rainy season does not end for several weeks yet, so we do not know when this will be. The animals need you now more than ever. Please, will you help us help them?
