8-Year-Old Riner Was Tormented By Maggots So Badly, He Lost Hearing In One Ear. Please Help Now.

Poor old Riner looked positively defeated when we brought him in after a kind person called. Normally you’d expect a big, 8-year-old male cat like him to put up a fight, but he was like a rag doll.

Riner’s partially paralysed face had a monstrous wound oozing with maggots. Who knows how long this poor cat had been suffering? Older homeless animals like him are especially vulnerable, and deserve much better. Please help now. https://emergency.soidog.org/careforcats

Our vet team got right to work making this old boy comfortable and removing the maggots from his face and ear one by one. It’s a painstaking process, because missing even two can result in a whole new infestation.

Riner is safe at Soi Dog now. Happily, he tested negative for the feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency viruses, giving him a much better chance of eventually being adopted.

Unfortunately, this poor kitty’s right ear canal was destroyed by the pests who swarmed there for goodness knows how long.

While Riner heals, he’ll be kept comfortable and will be given ongoing medical care, food and shelter. His horrific wound will also be treated with a special type of honey that’s done wonders for hundreds of animals we’ve treated.

Riner is a new face among nearly 1,100 animals at our shelter. Like him, so many cats could be saved only because animal lovers like you joined the Care For Cats Club. Will you please join now with a monthly pledge of $10 or more, or a kind one-off donation? https://emergency.soidog.org/careforcats
