At Soi Dog Foundation, kitten season happens all throughout the year!🐈

Soi Dog’s spay and neuter programme or Catch I Neuter I Vaccination I Return has sterilised over 52,000 cats since 2003 and is vital to managing the over population of street and feral cat populations.

However, on top of cats being prolific breeders and elusive, the availability of ideal breeding conditions throughout the year means that there are always kittens who need help. Kittens, maybe cute but, the sad truth is, there aren’t enough homes for them all and neither are there are enough safe places for them to grow up into adulthood.

Sometimes momma cats die after they are run over by vehicles or when other animals injure or attack them. Kittens themselves may reach the same fate eventually. Being extremely fragile, kittens who do not have their mother’s care get ill easily and can fade away in a matter of hours.

So, when neonatal and young kittens arrive without a mother, they need a lot of care and attention. Sometimes around the clock feeding, if they are under a few weeks old.

At Soi Dog Foundation, thanks to so many wonderful, caring and kind people like you, we have been able to save the lives of countless kittens who have been just a few of the lucky ones out of the thousands who are being born into a life of misery. This is why our CNVR programme is vital.

On this #nationalkittenday we also wanted to thank all Soi Dog kitten (and puppy) fosters who help those young animals when arrive at Soi Dog Foundation, feeling cold, hungry and scared.

We invite you to read about our fosters who save tiny lives, everyday.

Happy Kitten Day!
