Last month, Soi Dog’s mobile clinic teams managed to neuter and vaccinate 10,353 dogs and cats, bringing the total number of animals sterilised since 2003 to a whopping 462,872 🎉.
Did you know? 🤓 Soi Dog Foundation carries out its CNVR (Catch I Neuter I Vaccinate I Return) programme in nine provinces across Thailand, covering the south, west, east and central parts of the country. Read more here: https://links.soidog.org/learn-more-about-soidog-CNVR
Individual CNVR projects are planned after careful estimations of the dog population in a chosen area. Decrease in dog numbers can only be seen when at least 80% of the population has been neutered.
It is also important to revisit areas and carry out a post-operation evaluation to assess the impact. Even though it takes time to see results, neutering is the only effective and humane method of solving the population crisis of stray dogs and cats.
Thanks to your amazing support, our teams based in Nakhon Si Thammarat hit a record number of dogs and cats neutered in the month of August! With your continued support, we will be able to improve animal welfare and prevent thousands more puppies and kittens being born into short lives of suffering on the streets.
