We Have A Very Happy Update For The Weekend. Last ..

We have a very happy update for the weekend. Last night, Mayumi who was in our foster care since 1 February 2020, was adopted.

Mayumi is a very special cat. She used to be a community cat. When she had her first litter of kittens, another cat who lived in her same colony at KL Sentral also gave birth but wanted nothing to do with her own litter. Mayumi raised 5 kittens from 2 litters of tabby kittens as her own. An abandoned little all-black kitten found solo nearby was taken to her and she took the 6th kitten as her own too. 4 of the 6 kittens survived, and have been adopted.

Mayumi was with us the longest. Mayumi is a petite cat. She is extra friendly and playful once she wins a human’s trust, but super-shy until then. Once she learns you are trustworthy, her purr sounds like the bass on a boom box. Her miaw is unique, like a duck squawking.

Potential adopters who came to view her would be met by a cat who sat silently under a bed or in a little corner and refused to come out. One potential adopter gave up after two hours of sitting on the floor and talking to Mayumi who sat resolutely under the bed.

Tiya fell in love with Mayumi at first sight. She decided she wants to take Mayumi home to be a companion to her other rescue cat, Badang. She didn’t let Mayumi’s shyness deter her.

The first two photos are Mayumi in our member’s home. The third, is Mayumi in her forever home (in the carrier) being greeted by Badang for the first time. The last is Mayumi exploring her new home.

We can’t yet give you a picture of Mayumi being manja with her new human family or cat brother as she is playing hard to get! Badang is following her around adoringly but being ignored. She is warming up to Tiya and her husband, Aiman. But with all three being determined to win her love, we are sure we will have many happy photos to share soon.

Thank you Aileen for fostering Mayumi and her kittens for us so very lovingly, and taking them for vet visits at the very height of the MCO.

Thank you Tiya from Cheras, for seeing how uniquely beautiful our Mayumi is. We are sure your love and Badang’s will be returned several-fold by little Mayumi.
