14,100 Dogs And Cats Sterilised In March. Soi Dog'..

14,100 dogs and cats sterilised in March.🙌

Soi Dog’s spay and neuter (CNVR) programme (Catch Neuter Vaccinate Return) has completed another successful month of carrying out various projects all across Thailand, in an effort to alleviate the suffering of street animals. Preventing the birth of millions, the programme has now reached nearly 550,000 animals since we started operations back in 2003, making Soi Dog’s spay and neuter programme, the largest anywhere in the world.

With no government funding we are able to carry out this vital programme because of you. 🧡

Along with the mobile clinic teams permanently set up in Bangkok and Nakhon Si Thammarat, we are also continuing the projects on the island of Koh Samui as well as right here in Phuket.

Regularly returning to areas where CNVR was previously conducted is an important part of the programme.

It is impossible to spay and neuter the entire population in a given area in one visit and the aim is to sterilise 80-90% as there are dogs who may evade capture and young animals who are not old enough to be sterilised. Returning to the areas in a year or so, means that those animals who couldn’t be sterilised previously can now easily be targeted for neutering.

This is important to ensure the long term success of the programme and this is why we have now returned to Koh Samui as well as conducting mobile clinics in and around the island of Phuket.

CNVR is the only humane and sustainable method to manage the over-population of our companion animals and together with your help, we are determined to eliminate their suffering through spaying and neutering.
