Join Us On Sept 24th At 830 Pm For Another Session..

Join us on Sept 24th at 8:30 PM for another session in our Environmental Speaker Series, on how private entities and community-based approaches can effectively support biodiversity conservation and encourage coexistence. The Environmental Speaker Series is organized by WWF-Malaysia and sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

The conservation of our natural resources and the protection of biodiversity is a shared responsibility between government, industry, and individuals alike. Private entities and community-based approaches can play an important role in biodiversity conservation and in encouraging human-wildlife coexistence. This talk will feature Ms. Nilanga Jayasinghe, Manager for Asian Species (WWF-US) where she has nearly 20 years of extensive experience in human-wildlife conflict management, Asian elephants, strategic planning, connectivity conservation, protected area management, capacity building, and technological applications for wildlife conservation. She will be joined by Mr. Ram Nathan, Senior Manager for Environment & Conservation Dept, Sabah Softwoods Berhad, a government-linked company that has modeled how business can play a role in conservation. The session will be moderated by WWF’s very own Manager for Elephant Conservation, Dr. Cheryl Cheah.
