As We Recently Celebrated World Animal Day On 4 Oc..

As we recently celebrated World Animal Day on 4 October, we are happy to share good news about one of our most beloved wild animals – the Bornean orang-utan. While orang-utans are threatened by habitat destruction and fragmented habitats, WWF-Malaysia is happy to share that, thanks to our partners and supporters who collaborate with us, orang-utan numbers in Malaysia are now stable. There are an estimated 13,000 orang-utans in the wild in Sabah and Sarawak collectively.

This achievement is due to conservation efforts, good forest management, and heightened public awareness. Many thanks to our generous supporters; we could not have done this without you!

To sustain orang-utan numbers, we will need to keep these efforts up. Please support our ongoing orang-utan and forest conservation efforts, visit https://community.wwf.org.my/project/3/ Thank you.
