Tapirs – our favourite gardeners of the forests that play a very important role in maintaining the biodiversity of tropical ecosystems. 👨🏼‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾

These cute mammals have visible trunks. They are actually related to horses and rhinoceroses, and their feet have hooves.

The trunk, which they use to grab branches and pluck fruits, making them herbivorous. Their diet includes shoots, leaves, grasses, fruits and nuts.

Their trunks are actually an extension of their nose and upper lip 🌿🍀🍃
