Today Is Black Cat Appreciation Day A Day That Aim..

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day 🖤 – a day that aims to not only honour their beautiful, sleek coats but also give them recognition as they are often overlooked in shelters.

We’d like to celebrate today by sharing Thuja’s #furrytailending story.

Thuja (now Nala) was dumped in a local’s garden when she was just four weeks old. She needed lots of tending to when she arrived at the shelter as she was underweight and battling cat flu.

Although Thuja was a very shy girl, she was very much loved by staff here. We adored her stunning olive-green eyes, her catch-me-if-you-can zoomies and her cattitude. ❤

After nearly two years at the shelter, Thuja was adopted to the UK in December last year by a family who had visited the shelter on holiday some months before, wanting to give a chance to a cat who was having a hard time finding a home. With Thuja, it was love at first sight. Her adopter sent us this lovely update, hoping it will help more black cats like Thuja get adopted:

“Nala (previously Thuja) joined our family as a very shy little girl last Christmas. Since then it has been wonderful to see her personality blossom from a shy little girl to a cheeky adventurer and full on lap cat. She loves following her new big brother Nacho around the house and garden, enjoying a good cuddle, and waking us up at 7am for her breakfast!”

Forget fur colour and forget myths. Black cats show us that it’s the love they have to offer that matters.🐾🐾❤
