Our emergency rescue service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2012, we responded to 2955 calls, and helped 1828 animals. We've answered a myriad of rescue calls, going to the aid of different animals, wildlife and community alike. Our Animal Rescue Officers often get themselves into precarious situations while trying to save an animal's life.

She first came to us on 3 May 2011, a five-year-old cat we found in Bukit Timah near a house that was being demolished. Becky (now known as Whiskers) spent the next two years in our shelter, well-loved by staff and volunteers. While we loved her very much, we still wanted a good home for her; a place she could call her own. More than two years later, Becky finally finds a loving home with the Jimenez family. Having spent most of his life on the balcony, this dog knew only the four glass walls that surrounded him. Our inspectors arrived on the scene in June 2011 after receiving a call from a concerned resident living in the same condominium, and tried to contact the dog's owner several times. Their efforts were to no avail, and we alerted the AVA.

These two puppies are part of a litter of ten, orphaned at a young age after their mother was hit by a truck. We took all ten babies in and turned to our trustworthy fosterers. Our kind fosterer (pictured here) opened her heart and her home to three of the babies, and another three fosterers answered our call for help, readily taking in the rest of the litter.

Guess who we ran into at the recent Discover Dogs event held at the Singapore Expo?
Frosty, Dasher and Shine (not pictured here) were adopted from our shelter, and we were pleasantly surprised when they dropped by our booth to say hi! Among the many prizes our three ex-SPCA darlings went home with, Shine (a lovely Singapore Special) came in 2nd place for Best Kept and also took home the title of Fastest Eater.

Tallula came to us when she was a tiny puppy, with her brother Toby. It's been months since Toby was adopted, but Tallula is still with us, waiting for her forever home. Adopted from our shelter almost three years ago, Mabel is now enjoying her home and getting all the love she deserves.
