On April 26th around 7:30am, Nad, of the Hindhede group of long-tailed macaques was struck by an automobile and immediately perished. Although such accidents do happen regularly, Nad, is worthy of a pause of remembrance as she was the top-ranking female of these macaques, and thus played the most integral
role in their community. Every other female in the group deferred to her, and she was a focal point of social contact. Since females form the core of macaque communities, she was the most influ...

"Rodents? Leave them to us," said Munchkins, the reticulated python who was in the middle of digesting his lunch.
The town council called in their pest control who safely contained Munchkins and handed him over to us- along with his lunch- a huge rat who was regurgitated.

This python wasn't as lucky as Soul who just needed to be relocated.
Coming out from the bushes and onto the road, the python got run over and was safely pulled to the side by two kind and brave motorists.
Unfortunately, it was too late. 10 minutes after the call came through, the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Team found the limp python barely breathing and covered with ants. A swelling around a quarter of her length from the head might be an indicator of internal bleeding, where a snake's vital org...

A poultry farm saw a reticulated python devour a chicken.
Rescue volunteer officer, Sheryl Fever: "Looking at those chickens cramped in cages, row upon row, with no shelter from the hot sun, I actually think the python did the chicken a favour, providing it with a quick death."
Charlene from ACRES: "Of all the rescues, this has to be one of the most disturbing to date."
(Due to confidentiality, venue cannot be disclosed).
