JUST RESCUED - WHAT A REASON TO CELEBRATE! http://animalrescuechase.com/news/marc h-2013/rescue-blitz-underway-for-abandoned-dogs.ht ml This dog and her companion are pure breeds and the hunter who owned them paid a lot of money for them. But he no longer wanted them so had condemned them to die. The dogs were surviving on loaves of stale bread, when he remembered, and water perhaps once a week. The female was chained and shows signs of recently giving birth and the male was so frightene...

Karen Paolillo at Turgwe Hippo Trust is raising this young mongoose orphan. Karen is such a fine nanny to the wild things here in Zimbabwe and probably one of the few women in the world to have pet a wild wart hog or to touch a baby baboon in his mother's arms. Congratulations Super Nanny on saving yet another little life.

WHERE IS THIS LITTLE OASIS? Visit us at www.HarmonyFund.org Believe it or not, this is the rescue room of a veterinary clinic in Avsallar, Turkey. The cats seen here were all battered and abused street cats until they were brought to safety by volunteer Manuela Wroblewski. All year long, the Harmony Fund sponsors the care of these rescued cats, food for hundreds of others in the streets, as well as spay/neuter. There are some very hard days here for Manuela as she and the volunteers she...

You'll love this wonderful photographic exploration of one family's adventure raising an orphaned baby porcupine. She loved to run with the dogs on the beach, eat strawberries in the garden and sleep on her mom's chest to watch TV in the evening. What an enchanting little creature. Enjoy! http://www.care2.com/causes/?p=3008775&preview=tru e

This morning we're assisting volunteers in Greece to protect this dog who is kept in this 'cage' by her owner. He'll just drop her in and leave the cage outside in the middle of a public area and then turn up at the end of the day to retrieve her. The humane volunteers seized the dog and took her in for treatment for anemia (severe tick and flea infestation) The owner is trying to get the dog back and local police are siding with him. We're reaching out to authorities and, for all of you who are...

THEY ARE SAFE! http://animalrescuechase.com/ Last week we told you that a mass rescue was planned in Spain. Here are a few of the dogs who came in ... many still to go including a pair of hunting dogs that are being deliberately starved of food and water as they haven't performed up to standard. Thank you to all the Harmony Fund supporters who enable us to reach out to dogs like these. The only reason these dogs are alive is because Viv Actin volunteers have been feeding them through the fenc...

What a lovely sight for a Sunday. Here is the beautiful Emma waiting for her breakfast in Bulgaria. At the shelter she would not eat, even if she was hand fed. But now, at the home of Little Angels Founder Candy Sasse, she is waiting for food in the kitchen and loving it. Her broken soul is being mending at last. Thank you all for the wonderful donations you have sent this month for our work in Bulgaria. Our supporters are such a blessing!http://animalrescuechase.com/donation/bul garia.html

Angie Heringer renews her soul in a pair of running shoes. The winner of many races and an Olympic marathon trials qualifier, Angie has long relied on the sport to care for her mind, body and spirit, but recently those runs have taken her through the burned-down, torn-down and abandoned houses in the struggling town of Hughes, Arkansas where hundreds of dogs take shelter under decaying porches, rusted out cars and even holes in the ground. Angie, who leads the Arkansas branch of Emerald City Dog...

Holding our breath as a mass dog rescue is being organized and attempted by partners in Spain. They're getting all the legal matters in place. This case would set a precedent and relieve the suffering of several neglected dogs. Hope to have good news to report in the next few weeks. Justice moves slow here but we're hoping it finally moves in the right direction for these animals. http://animalrescuechase.com/index.html

Meet Dalton, the bunny rescued from a blizzard thanks to the persistant efforts of Patricia Gordon in Calgary. Patricia had been trying to catch the abandoned rabbit since fall. Dalton (as she named him) was living on the grounds of a garden center. He was doing ok for a while, until a blizzard moved through and put the rescue mission into overdrive. "The grass in the park had been covered with a foot of snow, and the fir trees had turned into mountain peaks and slopes," Patricia said. "There...
