Old Dogs Are The Most Experienced At Love - Love Them Back! 28th Oct 2019, by Soi Dog Foundation
In Thailand, countless elderly dogs have lived on the streets their whole lives. Please go to https://bit.ly/A_Home_For_Senior_Dogs to help them.
As these dogs age, they develop health problems. Some are blind, some have trouble walking. Others simply can't cope with the daily fight for survival.
At the Soi Dog Foundation shelter, there are a few special enclosures dedicated to senior and special needs dogs, such as the one in this video. More are urgently needed to help some of the most vuln...

The Raw Deal Report (after 1 Month) 28th Oct 2019, by AnimalCare
I made the decision to convert all our cats to raw food on 27th September 2019. There is a lot of literature about the benefits of raw food for cats because cats are obligate carnivores. The literature says that converting your cat to a raw food diet is about the best thing you could do for your cat, nutrition-wise.
I had known about the benefits of raw food for a very long time now but was hesitant to do a full conversion for our cats because they are all geriatric and I thought it would be ver...

Who’s Afraid Of Fireworks? 28th Oct 2019, by AnimalCare
Whenever there are fireworks, it’s never good for the animals.
Bunny is not afraid of fireworks. With fireworks booming, he can still eat.
Indy is also not afraid of fireworks or thunderstorms. But Cleo is (that’s her hiding on the far right). But why is Cleo hiding there?
Because Cow took her basket.
Cow is very afraid of fireworks. He would be so scared that he won’t even eat.
Cleo: I’m not happy to be here.
Pole is terrified of fireworks so she is hiding unde...

Indy’s News 28th Oct 2019, by AnimalCare
With Bunny “down” with his eye injury, Indy started targeting Cow instead. I have had to break up a few war-crying posturing episodes between the two. Cow did not start them; Indy did.
Then, just now, Indy chased Cleo all over the garden to the room.
Maybe he is just playing, or maybe he has too much energy and needs to let off some steam.
Today’s stool report: Discovered blood-tinged soft stool at 8.20am. I don’t know if this was passed during the night, early morning or...

Indy: It Is Probably Giardiasis 28th Oct 2019, by AnimalCare
Is there good news today? I don’t really know.
There is still blood-tinged soft stools. Once, yesterday at 12.30pm and again today, at 8.20am. But it isn’t as frequent as before, though, and there is no shooting diarrhoea anymore.
It looks like Indy can retain the raw chicken fillet. I also begun adding back some Cubgrub since yesterday and he has been able to retain it so far.
Currently, Indy is on raw chicken fillet with Cubgrub (smaller meals) and still on the Slippery Elm a...

Bunny’s Eye – To The Vet’s 28th Oct 2019, by AnimalCare
It’s been practically a month of frequent vet visits for us.
On Saturday night, Bunny got bullied by Indy. Indy has been taking it out on Bunny lately. I think perhaps Indy is a little moody because he hasn’t been getting his full meals, so he took it out on the easiest cat to bully – Bunny.
Before this, Indy had always been very kind to Bunny, knowing that he is 80% blind. Indy would let Bunny walk all over him, bump into him and he had never retaliated at all. It was always C...

Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post 28th Oct 2019, by Soi Dog Foundation
Life is extremely difficult when you are a homeless dog and almost blind. This was the reality Ryan was facing. He was scared, vulnerable and in desperate need of help.
Ryan came to the shelter confused and weak. His blood was abnormally low in a certain protein which is a cause of malnutrition. This put him at serious risk of a fluid build-up in his already fragile body. Both of his eyelids were swollen and his eyes were cloudy and weeping. He also had a bad cough which was causing him endless...

WINTER SHELTER BUILDING STALLED FOR DOZENS OF CATS
In one of two missions this week to protect cats from the coming winter, we'd like to ask your help completing this partially constructed shelter for homeless cats in Bosnia. The cold is coming in VERY soon. The goal is to raise $640.
"Some of the cats who will live here were seriously ill, some were in great danger of poisoning, harm from stray dogs or they were living along roads with busy traffic," rescuer Naida Kaltak explains. "I am also...
