Horatio's Furrytail Ending!
27th Aug 2019, by Soi Dog Foundation

2198 days. That is how long Figaro, now called Haratio, waited for his #furrytailending. By looking at these pictures, the wait was well worth it. He is now living his best life in the UK. At only 8 weeks old, Horatio was struck by a moving vehicle and left for dead. Luckily a kind Samaritan witnessed the accident and called Soi Dog immediately. He was rushed to the Soi Dog Hospital and luckily survived but the horrible ordeal left him terrified. It took years of TLC from the behaviour team and...

Little Tickles has a long way to go before he is up for adoption. He was rescued and now he is fostered by his kind rescuers. We hope all the best for Tickles and his fosterers! Small kittens especially without their mothers are more prone to germs or viruses therefore leaving them in a shelter environment will lead to low chances of survival as we have other cats in the quarantine area. So next time when you rescue a small kitten, please consider fostering by bottle feeding it or put it up ...

Neutering Aid For 2 Cats In Shah Alam (Norazida Bt Md Dahari’s)
27th Aug 2019, by AnimalCare

We have provided an aid of RM200 for the neutering of these 2 cats. Ms Norazida is aiming to stabilise the colony of cats in her area. At the moment in my housing lane I have identified the number of cats that has not been neutered as below (numbers provided). Not all are friendly (1/, 2/ & 5/), only the 3 kittens can easily be approached. Like the male that I sent in for this application, took me 2 years to trap him and his partner, meanwhile they have already produced many more kittens. ...

As you read this post, Barni and Queen B await at the Malaysian checkpoint to complete the necessary documentation for their final release into the wild, thanks to the support of National Parks Board and Perhilitan. Adopt Namdange!
27th Aug 2019, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am Namdange and I am in desperate need of a home. I was found suffering on the streets by a member of the Community Outreach Program. When she drove by, I was skinny, weak and had an issue with my eyes and skin. What started as mild discomfort, had progressed into something much more severe. Luckily I was brought into the Soi Dog hospital and given veterinary treatment, which provided me with immediate relief. With time, my fur slowly grew back and my skin was no longer itchy. My eyes have i...

The Amazon Rainforest Fires
26th Aug 2019, by AnimalCare

Many, many animals are perishing in the fires. Please read how the fires started: https://www.latimes.com/environment/ story/2019-08-25/amazon-rainforest-fires-climate I nstead of axes and machetes, people now use bulldozers and giant tractors with chains to pull down the Amazon’s towering trees. A few months later, they torch the trunks. It’s the only realistic way to remove such huge amounts of biomass, Morton said. “It’s slash and burn, 21st century.” Thousa...

Phew! Talk about shell shock... Queen B is our superhero and heroine of her own kind, the giant Asian pond turtle, non-native to #Singapore. The condition and contortions of her old shell wounds stunned us all. Clearly, her battle scars hide a painful and traumatic story that she suffered, aside from longhaul horrifics that victims of the illegal pet trade endure. Thankfully, Queen B's internal organs and locomotion hadn't been affected by the mysterious trauma and her shell had healed over....
